For many young men playing football for one of the major English teams is just a dream. However, for one young man, Josh Barton, that dream has become somewhat of a reality as he moves one step nearer to becoming a Premiership Footballer. Josh, a Year 12 student, is about to take up a two year scholarship with Aston Villa after he completes his GCSEs this year. The scholarship will mean that Josh will be working with some of the top trainers and football professionals in the country with a view to eventually being offered a professional contract. Presently playing right wing for Cliftonville, Josh is overjoyed by this opportunity and is determined to do his best to share a pitch with some of the footballing greats such as Villa’s own James Milner. This is a considerable achievement for Josh and the school, as a whole, wishes him every success in the future!
