Craigavon Senior High School, with the help of the local community, has always been a strong supporter of local, national and international charities. On Tuesday 16th March it was the turn of ‘Charlene’s Project’ to benefit from the generosity of students, their parents and staff. The Project is the brainchild of Charlene Barr, a young woman who, despite a serious medical condition, has decided to channel her energies into raising money to build a school in one of the poorest areas of Uganda. Through a Hotdog Breakfast, CSHS has contributed over £800 to the cause, with more to come through a non-uniform day prior to the Easter Holidays. One notable contributer to the final total raised was Matthew Abraham who reportedly bought and ate ten hotdogs, a number just short of the all time record of eleven! The school wishes to thank everyone who so generously donated sausages, bread rolls and drinks to make this event a success; Hannon Meats, Fred Elliot Butchers, Sainsbury's, Irwins Bakery and Coca Cola NI. Anyone wishing to contribute to the Project should visit Charlene’s website - http://charlenesproject.org/.
